Chaffey Brothers’ Pax Aeterna Grenache is a relatively new discovery for us, however one that’s we’re delighted to have come across. Made from gnarly 89 year-old vines on a single vineyard in the Northern Barossa, this Pax Aeterna (Eternal Peace), displays everything we love about modern-day Barossa Grenache.Â
Beautifully bright raspberry in colour, the 2023Â Chaffey Brothers Pax Aeterna Grenache offers vibrant red fruit aromatics, with notes of fresh raspberry, cranberry and dark cherry notes leaping out of the glass. The palate is mouthwateringly juicy with loads vibrant bright red fruits, lip-smacking fine tannins and plenty of fresh acidity. A delightful, easy drinking red with an enormously high level of ‘drinkability’ upon release, this comes with our highest recommendation.
